Petroleum, Oil & Gas Industries

Accutest Laboratories has a long history providing environmental analytical services to the petroleum industry. The majority of these services focus on preventative action monitoring at retail sites. However, Accutest also performs a wide range of specialty projects which employ an equally wide range of analytical methodology. These projects include spill investigation and monitoring; remedial investigations for terminals, pipelines and refineries; and cleanup monitoring for any petroleum or gas related facility. Accutest has performed sample analysis on numerous high profile environmental incidents for petroleum clients that have the potential for litigation. Although the majority of the analysis for petroleum, oil and gas industry clients falls under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) or a State derivative, the Clean Water Act (CWA), the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA), the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) and the Clean Air Act (CAA) may also be employed depending on the situation. Accutest regularly works directly with petroleum and gas clients, but may also be involved through an engineering consultant who oversees individual projects.

Examples of typical consulting and engineering projects performed by Accutest follow:

  • Divestiture of Retail Gasoline Stations;
  • Gas Pipeline Installation in the Northeast;
  • Remediation of Oil Refineries in the Gulf Coast Region and
  • Testing to Support Remediation of Legacy Sites-Manufactured Gas Plants (MGP).
