SGS Accutest routinely provides services to the consulting community, the petroleum, oil, gas and chemical industry and government clients on a broad array of projects that are specific to the industry sector being served. These projects literally cover a broad range of regulatory programs including the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), the Clean Water Act (CWA), the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA), the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) and the Clean Air Act (CAA). SGS Accutest has participated in projects requiring environmental analytical services that include site characterization and remediation; chemical spills; surface and groundwater contamination from industrial operations; Brownfields redevelopment; ambient and indoor air characterization; waste disposal; industrial products analysis and treatment plant operations monitoring. Although the majority of projects employ methods from USEPA’s SW-846 method compendium fall under RCRA rules, methods from 40 CFR 136 (304H) and Methods for Chemical Analysis of Water and Wastes are employed for wastewaters and surface waters; methods from the USEPA technical publication Methods for the Determination of Organic Compounds in Drinking Water for drinking water; USEPA’s Inorganic Air Monitoring Methods Compendium (IO Methods) and Air Toxics Monitoring Methods (TO Methods) as well as numerous other USEPA method compendiums and State specific methods are also employed.
SGS Accutest’s technical and client services staff regularly provides technical support services to clients during the formative stage of projects to ensure the selection of the appropriate analytical specifications, which is provided as a value added service. This support includes participation in quality assurance project plan (QAPP) development to assure that the plan coincides with SGS Accutest’s practices and capabilities. It also includes custom development of client specific electronic data deliverables (EDDs) as needed. The information provided for QAPP development includes quality assurance system practices, quality control procedures, analytical method specifications, target parameter identification and method sensitivity data. Final documents are reviewed by the SGS Accutest technical staff to assure that the project is executed according to plan.
